The Penn State Alumni Association

What’s been happening:

Although none of my four children matriculated at Penn State, they have all enjoyed returning to happy valley for visits to Dad's school. Tracey, born 1970, a Michigan State Spartan is a new mother of twin girls and my only grandchildren. She lives nearby in Cleveland, OH and is an Occupational Therapist. Allen Jr., 1972, Miami Univ., FA Summa Cum Laude, has his own business in Asheville, NC. John, 1976, Whittenberg, Phi Beta Kappa, OSU Law, is an attorney in Columbus, OH. Ben, 1978, Northwestern and Stanford Univ. is an environmental engineer in Orange Cnty., CA. My fondest memories of University Park campus life cover a wide range. I challenged myself with 8 o'clock classes and always enjoyed coffee with fellow students at the HUB or the Corner Room afterwards. Competing in intercollegiate gymnastics was a rewarding experience for me. In Rec Hall, Coach Whetston, put on an extravaganza that packed the house as the biggest and best venue for men's gymnastics in the country. I loved the student body spirit and camaraderie that energized our campus, particularly on game day, which could be a gym meet, football game or any of many special artists appearances that were attracted to University Park from Segovia to Ray Charles. In the valleys in my life, I have returned to Penn State to recharge my spirit and get back on track to climb the next mountain.
